Pay it Forward!

Pay it forward was also one of my GOALS in 2015! I thought I’d share something that I am doing on a social media platform Facebook.

This is what I’m doing! Have fun! Let me know if you will be doing this! I have 5 Friends who already commented “I’m In”

Let’s spread some much needed LOVE in this world we live in today!

Let’s do this … thought this was a great idea! (Please note I did not come up with this concept) I just seen it on one of my Friends facebook page and started to spread the love and pay it forward also.

After all the recent terrible tragedies that have happened and are still happening, this world needs as much kindness as it can get. I’m participating in this ‘Pay it Forward’ initiative: The first five people who comment on this status with “I’m in” will receive a surprise from me at some point during the next year (2015) – anything from a book, a ticket, a homemade treat, a postcard, absolutely any surprise! There will be no warning and it will happen when the mood comes over me and I find something that I believe would suit you and make you happy. These five people must make the same offer on their Facebook status. Please copy and paste this message and put it on your status (don’t share it) so that we can form a web of connections of kindness. Let’s do more nice and loving things in 2015 without any reason other than to make each other smile and show that we think of each other. Here’s to a more enjoyable, friendly, and love-filled year!

Enjoy!

Meal planning on a price matching budget.

I don’t know about you, but I meal plan. Sure it’s a pain but I know it has saved us money in the long run. We also waste less food because we only buy what is needed. I started meal planning around 2 years ago. With the tools out there today it’s so easy to sit down and take 15 to 20 minutes that is needed. Well maybe if your not new at it. I use the old fashioned paper and pencil and write down my list and go from there. Nothing fancy for me. I have the flyers out too. Why? To see what’s on sale and what I can price match!

I use Pinterest. Feel free to follow me. I have special boards like Paleo foods, Gluten Free foods, 21DSD foods and I quite sugar boards. All with recipes I have given a thumbs up to. I don’t post anything on there that I have not tried as fear of passing it on to someone who may dislike the recipe. Sure you may dislike it as much as the next person but for me they work. I’ve pined some recipes and have unpinned them due to my own personal dislike after making the recipe. Feel free to give me any feedback if you have found a recipe that you made and liked or disliked. Either way to each there own I say. *shrugs*

So when I do my meal plans they are for 2 weeks. My family budget for 5 people (3 kids under 6 & 2 adults) is $200.00 every 2 weeks and $300.00 every 6 weeks. The $300.00 is our bulk (ie: MEATS) we buy at Costco. the $400.00 a month is fruits, vegetables and other food that is required like bread, milk cheese. I am  not 100% PALEO. I do eat dairy and follow a paleo and gluten free lifestyle diet.

I’ll share my two weeks with you and most of the recipes can be found on my personal pinterest site, under the boards mentioned above. Feel free to comment below if you have issues locating the recipe. Also I love trying new meals so if you have any yummy ones feel free to pass along. I love to cook.

Depending on when we last did groceries is when our meal plan starts. So for this 2 week meal plan it starts on a Monday.
This is what we plan on eating for the next two weeks. We are pretty good at going in order sometimes we will switch it up depending if something takes a bit longer to make and we where out busy that day I can pull something fast and easier to make but that’s the list we stick to.

M: Teriyaki Chicken with Rice
T: Tuna Casserole

How are your new years resolutions going (or goals) Mine are going good. I worked out 2x’s this wee so far have one more to go and then I already did 3 blog entries this week! Yah me for staying on top of my goals and achieving them! With time I will get better and not so boring with my blogs!! Right now I’m doing what is my best. That’s just getting it down and doing it.

reflection of 2014 resolution!

So if your just starting to follow me last year my new years resolution was to eat right. By eating right to me that was cutting out refined sugars, eating gluten free and adding a paleo diet. I am not 100% paleo and I do eat gluten free foods and am 99.9% off refined sugars. We all know there are refined sugars in almost 99.9% of things. I for the most part make things from scratch. I follow yummy recipes and take a basic recipe and flair it up with my own special ingredient.

Today I’m trying a recipe that I found online it’s called Detox Cauliflower soup. Detox you ask? Well I along with my kids and husband have been eating or indulging in foods that we do not eat. I personally feel the effects on my body. I just feel icky for a lack of a better word.

I found the recipe here Revivelife Clinic. Let’s see how this turns out!

So it turned out. If you can past the first smells. My thoughts where it did smell like a barn yard. I was scared it was going to taste the same way. However thankfully proved me wrong. It has a nice kick of heat I take it the ginger infused that. I did not get a photo of the final however I did take a photo during the making of the soup.

Cauliflower soup

would I make it again? Sure maybe every 3 months or so. Would not be a my 2 to 4 week meal plan as the kids gave it a thumbs down. It would be a quick easy go to meal on a cold winter day! And when your over loaded with meat and just want a little breather then why not!

So I am on a roll. I got 2 blog post finished for this week. I did say 3x’s a week and I also got one at home workout in and that’s the 1st of 3x’s a week. I found a great starter workout If you would like the links they are here and here I’m just starting out my “routine” so these 2 ladies I found to be best that work for what my personal goals will be for 2015!

So my reflection for 2014 I have my diet eating habits accomplished. I’m starting my 2015 on the right foot! Happy Saturday everyone!! See you all in a few days!!

Happy New Year!! 2015

Let's bring it 2015!

Let’s bring it 2015!

I always start off on the right foot and end off on the left with something else and don’t really get to caught up in my every day words.

My RESOLUTION for 2015 is to write 3x’s per week share my fitness goals and perhaps hare some food because everyone knows I love to eat!! 2014 came and went with a few bumps in the road. We lost my Grandmother in February of 2014 and it felt like it was one thing or another why I did not keep up with my post or at that point could care less.

I was thankful however that I did stick to the #21DSD I actually detoxed 3x’s last year. My eating habits have changed in 2014. I tend to follow a paleo, gluten free and sugar free diet. I started 2014 at 185 lbs with a then ( 6 month old baby girl) now she is 16 months (CRAZY how time flys) so I went from 185 lbs to 159 lbs in 1 year I say that’s a kick as goal. Now my new goal to achieve this coming year will be to write my blog post, be physically active 3x’s a week and keep on the right track and not year off on the left foot.

Till then stay safe have fun and enjoy 2015!  Day 1 of 3 write ups! WEEK 1 *GOAL* I got this!!

Our dinner meal plan

1546339_10153702586250188_1764630205_n

Made it to day 12 on the #21DSD so our following meal plans is for 2 weeks (less thinking the following week) So I work now and don’t have to do it every week and saves me time and works better that way!

So for the 14 day meal plan below the first 7 days are #21DSD friendly (level 1) as hubby and I are still following it till the 21 days. We’re still going strong and have yet to have a drop of sugar!! Crazy how motivated we are. As it’s been such a short time yet we’ve seen such positives about this program that it actually works!

For each meal that I post I will paste the link beside it. Please note if there are any natural sugars in the first 7 recipes I do omit it just because it’s not aloud in the 21DSD plan. I’m starting with baby steps to feed our kids this way to. I have one boy oldest who has embraced the shepherds pie (cauliflower on top) the little guy not so much a fan but he will be introduced to it again in do time he will like it over the mashed potatoes.

There are some of our favorites that we enjoyed over the past 12 days and they will for sure be rotated on the following meal plans that worked great for us. And we found BREAD I’ll post the bread recipe that I made . It was nice to have a tuna sandwich for lunch rather then wrap it up in lettuce. If you’d some lunch suggestions just comment below and I’ll post a few.

**A LOT OF EGGS in these recipes just to give you a heads up buy yourself a HEN (lol) support local farmers and buy your eggs**

21 Day Sugar Detox ~ Day 2

Wow! Made it to the end of day 2. Hip Hip Hooray! laughing … So far I’m feeling wonderful. I don’t feel tired, or foggy.  For the past two days I have been eating real food. This 21DSD is awesome! I forget how I crossed paths with this info regarding this program but I knew it appealed to me and I wanted to do it.

Why? Why would someone want to do this? Well for my own personal reasons I have 3 wonderful children 2 boys and a baby girl who just turned 4 months on the 5th of January. She’s a sweet pea and my boys are my luv bugs. After having her I felt weighed down, tired and thought how am I going to kick start myself “healthy” with 3 kids I don’t have time for GYM, but I do have time for meal planning and TV exercise. This is my personal goal for 2014.  I know that the 21DSD will work for me because once I put my heart and soul into something there is no backing out. I’m hard headed like that and like to prove haters wrong and like to prove to myself Yes You CAN! (it’s the little lady attitude that I keep in my head when I feel like I’m going to fail)

So Day ONE: OMG NO SUGAR ekKKK my one liner was “I THINK I CAN … I THINK I CAN” that’s what got me though the day! I can do the NO SUGAR!! Let’s do it so my meals for the day where!

~Breakfast: 1 green tipped banana & 2 eggs (pancake) I added some flax seed & pure vanilla extract my pancake turned out good being the first time EVER following this recipe!

~Lunch: some tuna, black olives, celery salad (no mayo) with some lettuce, cherry tomatoes a few bites of cheese and 3 hot pickles and some almonds.

~Snack: avocado with balsamic vinegar & pepper

~Dinner: Yummy best ever meat loaf with some carrots

And of course I had water & black coffee to drink during the day. I only drink 2 coffee a day one in the am and one in the pm and the rest of the day is WATER .

After day 1 during the night I was feeling great! no issues went to sleep and felt great not hungry at all and no real “sugar carvings” I THINK I CAN I THINK I CAN Worked!

Day 2 on the 21DSD my one liner motivation for today was “FLIP THAT NUMBER TO 3”  was a crazy morning because I had to get my son off to school and make lunches and breakfast as they are not doing the detox so they are still getting carbs (for now) once the morning rush was over I was able to make my own breakfast and was looking for to it as I woke up hungry. I drank a glass of water to get me though the morning rush.

~Breakfast: 1 red grapefruit cut in half with sprinkled cinnamon and baked in the oven for 15 min at 375. and 1 hard boiled egg.

~Lunch: veggie omelette & cheese

~Snack: Cocoa Smoothie & green apple with cinnamon

~Dinner: stuffed chicken thigh with cheese and wrapped in bacon with a side of roasted parmesan broccoli

after lunch today I was craving something sweet so bad and because we did not do groceries due to a snow storm and only doing them tomorrow I had to think quick what do I have that I can use to stop this craving so I thought quick before I caved. It was the first time I got this urge that came over me. Felt like it was going to win but I said NOPE I’m BOSS not you Miss Craving! so I made the cocoa smoothie and it was delish!!

here is what I used in a pinch!

Cocoa Smoothie:

1 cup ice
1 cup cold black coffee
1/2 cup coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla extract (pure)
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 green tip banana

BLEND and ENJOY!! 🙂 takes that sweet craving away.  It will taste bland at first but trust me it will kick that sweet tooth in the butt! ENJOY!!

So after talking with my husband who’s also on board with this 21DSD I asked him how he was feeling and he said great. I’ve started to do 20min work-outs in my basement watching video though the Smart TV Samsung app I have goals on there to so when I do get an urge to eat something sweet like SUGAR I work-out and it gets me to the next hour or over that craving. It’s an evil battle to go though sugar withdrawls but I tell you. I feel more energy, more awake, and not heavy, foggy or tired. Who can say that with a 5 year old 4 year old and a 4 month old! That old saying “We are what we eat” after this 21DSD I plan on sticking with paleo and say buy buy to carbs and sugar! It’s really not that hard if you are willing to change your life style and eating habits. I can’t stop my children right now cold turkey like hubby and I however I will slowly introduce them into the world of eating real food! 19 more days to go Day 3 is around the corner! Thanks for following!! Feel free to comment below on my personal journey!

Cheers!
Here are some photos of the food I’ve eaten so far. I have not taken photos of all but a few.
